    Barbara Backus, NP

Barbara began her career working her way through the education process from the ground level, starting as a nursing assistant while in high school to test her desire for a medical career. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing through UW-GB and worked for several years in challenging specialty areas, including critical care, neonatal care, dialysis, homecare, and hospice care. Her motto was “learning is a lifestyle,” which motivated her to earn a Master’s degree from UW-Oshkosh while raising 4 children. She became a board-certified family nurse practitioner and continues to love her work in this area.

Barbara believes in holistic care and empowering each client to become an active participant in their care. She loves educating clients about their health so they become confident in directing their own care. In her role, she delivers primary care from childhood to adulthood to end-of-life care and performs skin evaluations checking for cancer, dermatological procedures, wellness care, behavioral health care, and disease management.

She believes everyone should have the opportunity to live life to its fullest and challenges clients to do this through excellent medical care to help reach their highest health potential for fulfilling this goal.
