Amanda Brown, MD
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with minors in History and Zoology. While at OU, I met my husband, and together we started our family during my medical training—welcoming our four children during medical school and residency. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and was honored to be inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. I completed my training with In His Image Family Medicine Residency, where I also earned certificates in Christian Counseling and Obstetrics, experiences that shaped my passion for caring for the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. After residency, my family and I moved to Oregon, where I spent several years in my own practice before returning home to Oklahoma to be closer to family. I then joined the University of Oklahoma Family Medicine Residency Program, where I had the privilege of teaching residents in clinic and leading their academic training sessions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I continued teaching residents with In His Image while also overseeing patient care in a skilled nursing facility and managing their COVID unit. These experiences deepened my love for both caring for patients and mentoring the next generation of physicians.I was drawn to the direct primary care model because it allows me to practice medicine the way I always hoped to—by spending time listening, educating, and partnering with patients in their health journey. At Solidaritus, I enjoy building long-term relationships and helping patients understand their health so they can make confident, informed decisions. I have a special interest in helping patients optimize diabetes through thoughtful lifestyle changes, exercise, and individualized medication strategies. Outside of medicine, I serve as a children’s ministry leader and treasurer at my church, help with costuming and set design for school plays, and love traveling with my family. I’ve visited 48 states and eight countries so far and enjoy learning about different cultures. I also speak Spanish fluently and love connecting with people from various backgrounds and hearing their stories.
