Dr. Susan Long, D.O.
Dr. Susan Long, D.O., is a board-certified family physician with extensive experience in primary care, adolescent medicine, mental health, and women’s health. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in 2013, following a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Long completed her residency at Geisinger-Kistler Family Medicine Program, followed by an internship at Stonybrook University–Southampton Hospital, and a fellowship in Primary Care Psychiatry through UC Irvine’s Train New Trainers program. She is licensed to practice medicine in California and holds active board certification through both ABOFM and ABFM.
Dr. Long has provided compassionate, culturally responsive care across diverse populations. Prior to joining Solidaritus Health, she served as an attending physician at the Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley, coordinating care with mental health teams and precepting nurse practitioner students. Other prior roles include primary care for school-based clinics, longitudinal care at UC Davis Primary Care Network, and geriatric and family medicine in locum tenens settings. A published author and active contributor to professional education, Dr. Long has co-authored research on transgender and gender-diverse health and presented on gender-affirming care and quality improvement in primary care. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Spanish, and is committed to providing inclusive, patient-centered care across all ages and backgrounds.
Dr. Long believes a good conversation is the heart of a therapeutic relationship. She utilizes listening, compassion, and attention to detail to understand patient values and goals and help them live up to their full potential. Outside of clinic, she enjoys swim, dance and tennis, and is a proud cat-mom to George, Ziggy and Stardust.
